The Thai champions' boss was delighted with Wednesday's shock win in China, but said he expected his opponents to struggle in front of goal
The Thai champions pulled off the biggest upset of match day 2 with their win in China, but Buspakom told reporters after the game, he felt it didn't take long for his players to realise they were on the same level as their opponents.
“Before the game we thought Muriqui, Cleo and Dario Conca were very strong opponents but after 10 minutes of the game we thought that these players made no contribution to the team," Buspakom said.
"In the Thai Premier League there are a lot of players at the same level as them."
The Thai boss added his side had seen a lot of vision of the Chinese side in advance and realised they had their issues in front of goal, with their resolute defence on Wednesday denying Guangzhou.
“We watched a lot of videos of Guangzhou Evergrande before the game and every team player had a full understanding that Guangzhou Evergrande are not very good at scoring goals,” he said.
He continued: “I’m very happy we won. In the face of such a strong opponent we thought before the game that we could only score once, but today we managed two and hopefully we can do better in the future."
