Young Talents 99’s Ademola Morufat says she was disappointed with her side’s slim defeat to RC Robo Queens in the final of the 2017 Lagos FA Cup women’s final at the Agege Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Ndubisi Esther scored the only goal that separated the two sides in the competition, but the captain of the losing side claims they played better than the NWFL side, adding that the center referee blew more in their favour.
“We deserved to win because we played more than them but the referee did not allow the game to flow accordingly,” Ademola told Goal.
Ademola also said that her only consolation was the qualification for the Federation Cup, saying the progress shows that they have improved their performances unlike the past years.
“Well, we are so happy that we will be playing in the Federation Cup because last year, we couldn’t reach the national championship and we are grateful to God that we have moved a step further.”
FC Robo Queens and Young Talents 99 football academy will fly Lagos State flag in the Federation Cup.
