Banyana Banyana coach has backed Nigeria coach to win the continent's best coach award following her success with the Super Falcons in Cameroon

South African women coach Desiree Ellis has tipped Nigeria coach Florence Omagbemi for the 2016 Caf coach of the year award.

Omagbemi who led the Super Falcons to win a record eighth African Women's Cup of Nations title in Cameroon made last the three alongside Florent Ibenge of DR Congo, Pitso Mosimane of Mamelodi Sundowns for the award.

And Ellis believes Omagbemi's title success with Nigeria as a player turned coach on her first attempt was worthy of an applause.

"It's is simply priceless. Well, it's her first attempt as a coach to the continental title and she won it," Ellis told Goal.

"So I would say it is a plus for her and believe strongly she is clearly in it to win. It will be great for women coaches seeing her win it.

"It is fantastic and a great feeling when you win a continental title as a player but to then win it as a coach is absolutely amazing."
