• Stade Vélodrome, Marseille
Referee: C. Turpin
• Attendance: 44391
A. Ayew 34'
Z. Ibrahimovic 66'
90' + 4'
Yellow Card Maxwell
90' + 4'
And it's hit the wall. FT: Marseille 1-2 PSG - an exciting game finishes in favour of the champions. OM threw it away in the second half, and questions remain over their ability to challenge the top two. It's good night from me!
90' + 3'
Matuidi has been excellent in the last minutes, cancelling out everything Marseille have thrown at PSG. He's given away a free-kick 20 metres away. Last minute. THIS IS IT.
90' + 1'
Another delivery into the box headed away, and cleared to the path for Moura, who intelligently holds off a bit more time. This is gone for OM.
THREE MINUTES ADDED ON
Marseille throwing everything they can at the other end, as PSG attempt to block anything that comes their way. Mendy with a wayward cross, goal-kick for PSG.
THAUVIN! Just not getting in for them. Lovely delivery from Fanni, and it's the substitute who gets a lovely header, but it's a good stop by Sirigu.
Late attacking action from PSG as Maxwell and Matuidi attempt to waste a bit of time. Offside call though, and Marseille want to hoof the ball up.
Marseille being held at arm's length, this is champion-style football by PSG. Grinding out victories, despite being on the back foot. It's a huge filip for les Parisiens.
Corner to Marseille - Fanni's delivery charged down by Matuidi. Punched out by Sirigu, and Matuidi with the clearance.
Marseille really pushing for that equaliser, with Thauvin attempting to link well with Valbuena, but their deliveries have been poor tonight. Seven minutes to go.
Yellow Card Edinson Cavani
YELLOW CARD - Cavani: What you can do, I can do better. Cavani booked for wasting time, exactly like Ibrahimovic moments ago.
Yellow Card Alaixys Romao
SUBSTITUTION - PSG: Cavani off for Lucas Moura. PSG have now subbed off their front three!
SUBSTITUTION - Marseille: Gianelli Imbula comes off for Florian Thauvin for the last ten minutes.
YELLOW CARD - Romao. The Togo international booked for leaving a boot in the side of Camara.
Controversial moment from referee Clement Turpin. Was going to book Fanni for the second time, but surprisingly decided against it. Weird.
Valbuena darts down the left, challenged by Van der Wiel, but gets the cross in time for Khalifa, who goes down under a challenge. No penalty.
Yellow Card Zlatan Ibrahimovic
YELLOW CARD - Ibrahimovic: The Swede is booked for wasting time as he departs from the pitch. Not his best night.
SUBSTITUTION - PSG: Zlatan Ibrahimovic departs, in place of Zoumana Camara.
OM continue to threaten. Khalifa with the cross towards Gignac, and the header zips off the top of the crossbar.
Lovely move forward from OM, as Ibrahimovic messes around with the ball. Valbuena out wide for Gignac, his cross in dealt with by Alex. Corner - subsequently wasted.
The colour and energy has been sapped from OM after going behind, being cooped up in their own half, no urgency whatsoever.
Another substitution - Dimitri Payet off for Saber Khalifa, probably as OM change to a 4-4-2, with two strikers. Can they regain the advantage?
The Velodrome has been silenced, as Marseille fans begin to turn on their team. No getting away from the fact that OM have gifted PSG the lead. 1-0 up, a man up, two crazy incidents have turned the tables to PSG's favour.
SUBSTITUTION - Marseille: Andre Pierre Gignac on for Jordan Ayew.
Penalty Goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic
IBRAHIMOVIC! Marseille 1-2 PSG - the tables have turned once more. Comfortable hit for the Swede, despite lasers and firecrackers everywhere, coolly slotting past Mandanda.
PENALTY TO PSG - Marquinhos fouled by Andre Ayew, what a stupid tackle. Going nowhere he was, and PSG have the chance to retake the lead.
Fanni whistled offside after an intricate one-two with Giannelli Imbula. PSG starting to get a bit of rhythm.
PAYET!! What a hit! What a hit. Lovely dribbling through the centre and strikes a ferocious shot which Sirigu needs to parry awkwardly. What an effort.
Nice little dink in by Rod Fanni towards the centre as Andre Ayew challenges for the ball, but headed away at the death by PSG. OM knocking on the door.
Marseille have played 304 passes, to PSG's 347. PSG recorded a 10 year Champions League high (bar Barcelona) hitting 842 passes in the 3-0 win over Benfica. Nowhere near those levels tonight.
Laurent Blanc still keeping his cool on the touchline as Marseille's assistant manager lectures with the fourth official. Coming upto the hour mark in Le Classique.
Yellow Card Dimitri Payet
YELLOW CARD - Payet: Indeed it is a yellow for the Marseille winger, and he will miss the next game against OGC Nice after the international break. Good news for one Florian Thauvin.
Payet reprimanded for a challenge on Verratti which looked sound. The French winger might've just clipped the midfielder, but minimal contact if that.
Great ball forward for Blaise Matuidi to give chase. Shoulder to shoulder with N'Koulou, the Marseille defender sends Matuidi tumbling, and wins the goal-kick. No penalty.
Ball over the top from Mendy towards Andre Ayew, who holds onto the ball under pressure from Alex and Van der Wiel. Marseille are forced back, as Rabiot cleans up.
Free-kick awarded to PSG as Ibrahimovic is unfairly challenged in the air by Alaixys Romao and Giannelli Imbula. Ball forward by Marquinhos, but Maxwell cannot keep the ball in play.
Thiago Motta returns to take his place in the makeshift Jean-Bouin stand at the Velodrome. He's unhappy, making silent gestures at an official before taking his seat.
Long ball forward from Marquinhos towards the middle, but headed away by Lucas Mendes. Marseille attempting to soak up the pressure, as Cavani goes in hard on Imbula.
Marseille win a free-kick against les Parisiens, and Ibrahimovic, tonight's captain is pulling a face at the referee. It's heated this one, a Marseille goal again would set off the roof!
Back on the Turpin issue, the referee once handed out five red cards in last season's Corsican Derby between Bastia and AC Ajaccio. A man not afraid to make the big decisions.
Fanni with a neat ball forward towards Ayew, who holds off Marquinhos. Towards Imbula on the far side, who in turn tees up Mendy, but the cross is poor.
One controversial figure tonight is referee Clement Turpin, at 31, the youngest official along with Stephane Joachem in the league. He's been labelled as card happy, racking up the highest red card tally last season.
UNDERWAY IN MARSEILLE! Second half has kicked off, Marseille against ten-man PSG, attacking from left to right.
Will PSG be playing for the draw? Or will they attempt to hit Marseille where it hurts on the counter? Huge second half coming up.
WHAT A HALF! Stunning game unfolding at the Velodrome in a half which encapsulated the imagination that Le Classique brings. Thiago Motta's red card certainly livened things up, as Andre Ayew tucked away the penalty. Maxwell's goal on 45 minutes has however, given ten-man PSG something to work with.
HALF-TIME: Olympique de Marseille 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain
45' + 1'
Two minutes added on. Matuidi attempts to counter but his final pass goes straight to a white shirt and the referee blows for half time.
Assist Gregory van der Wiel
GOAL! MAXWELL! PSG EQUALISE! Fantastic delivery from Van der Wiel, towards Maxwell who steals in as Mandanda gambles - and loses - as the Brazilian heads into the net.
Another free-kick to PSG, delivered in deep as Alex made a brilliant run at the back. Towards Cavani, but Imbula provides the clearance to keep Marseille ahead.
Dimitri Payet has been unusually quiet for OM, despite the chances available to the Provence club. A couple of good link-ups with Mendy, but not afforded the same service as Ayew and Valbuena.
Yellow Card Rod Fanni
IBRAHIMOVIC! Stunning header from the corner, and it's a fantastic save from Mandanda to parry the header away.
YELLOW CARD - Fanni: Booking for l'OM after a challenge on Maxwell as he attempted to get away on the flank. Free-kick PSG in a dangerous area on the wing.
Rabiot unfairly challenges Ayew in the middle, and Marseille win a free-kick. OM are full of endeavour and confidence, PSG are fighting to remain in the game. Hoping to make it to half-time 1-0 up.
Substitution - PSG: Adrien Rabiot is on for Ezequiel Lavezzi. Just Cavani and Ibrahimovic up top now, as PSG opt for a three man midfield. 4-3-2 now.
Marseille flowing forward in numbers as Fanni delivers in a powerful cross from the wing, attempting to find Ayew, but it's dealt with easily. PSG are making a change here.
VERRATTI!! Free-kick to PSG, taken by Maxwell, and the midfielder gets a rather good head to it, bringing out a good save from Mandanda.
Penalty Goal A. Ayew
GOAL! Marseille 1-0 PSG - Ayew penalty opens the scoring. And the roof (the one that's being built) is rocking! What a turnaround here at the Velodrome. OM lead, and they have an extra man.
Yellow Card Marco Verratti
YELLOW CARD - Verratti! The Italy midfielder is booked for really getting into the face of Clement Turpin the referee. He's been looking for it, PSG are unhinged. Here we go!
Red Card Thiago Motta
RED CARD - THIAGO MOTTA!! The tables have turned! It's a red card for the midfielder. A questionable decision by the referee as Valbuena had attempted to go off, but it was a high foot from Motta.
What an opening for L'OM! Motta goes in on Valbuena in the penalty box, and is in pain on the floor. Well, well well.
PENALTY TO MARSEILLE!
FANNI!! What a run, getting in behind Maxwell and onto the byline. Under pressure, he attempts to find Ayew in the middle, and it's Alex who races behind to get the ball away. What a chance!
Imbula with the long diagonal pass towards Ayew, and Marseille are beginning to make more efficient use of ball possession.
PSG win a corner at the other end after Marseille are forced to defend deep. Delivered in from Thiago Motta, and it's an easy save from Steve Mandanda.
Ibrahimovic currently operating where Maxwell should be, dropping deeper to involve himself, and advancing through the left. Cavani in the middle so far.
Marseille knocking on the door here, denied by Sirigu with that fantastic intervention. PSG race up the other end, Lavezzi and Ibrahimovic combining through Verratti, but the move breaks down.
SIRIGU!! DOUBLE SAVE!! Fantastic reflexes shown by the Italy international. Wonderful cross from Mendy, and the custodian has thwarted Jordan Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena to keep the score goalless!
Marseille's record in this fixture has them with 22 wins and six defeats, as well as seven draws. Reminder that PSG have failed to win here in five years.
PSG attempting to bamboozle the defence with Motta's lofted ball towards Cavani just a little too heavy, as it races towards Steve Mandanda. It's been a decent opening for L'OM.
Past the quarter-hour mark here at the Velodrome, and Paris Saint-Germain are yet to trouble Steve Mandanda at the other end. Marseille doing well to hold their own.
Oh dear. A flare has just landed meters away from Maxwell from the stands. Clement Turpin has briefly stopped the game, with Marseille already walking the tightrope with the LFP over the matter.
Positive start from Marseille here, with that Valbuena free-kick well parried by Salvatore Sirigu. OM have only scored two goals in their last four games against Paris Saint-Germain.
VALBUENA! Fantastic free-kick and turned around for a corner. Taken by Valbuena, short towards Payet, but Cavani challenges the Frenchman well and gets the ball away in time.
Benjamin Mendy bursts through the left wing, teeing up Dimitri Payet who goes down under the challenge of Marco Verratti. Free-kick to OM in a decent position.
Interestingly, PSG's coach Laurent Blanc is one of the few men to have ties with both clubs - he was a rock in the OM defence in the early 2000s, gaining the nickname 'Le President'.
Motta dispossesses OM in possession, and lumps a long ball forward for Lavezzi to give chase out wide. Towards Rod Fanni who gets in front of the Argentine and draws a foul.
Tentative start to proceedings here, as PSG look to slow down the tempo and limit OM's fiery start to the encounter. Verratti with a nice pass to Marquinhos, but PSG keeping it in their own half for now.
Referee Clement Turpin pulls the two together to read them the riot act, as Valbuena lashes out at a passing-by Ibrahimovic. On the pitch, Marseille comfortable in possession.
DERBY PASSION! Mathieu Valbuena fouled by Marco Verratti and immediately goes up to the Italy international to speak his mind. Sparks are flying already!
Free-kick to PSG after an offside call against Jordan Ayew. OM slightly on the back foot, as both teams battle for the early share of possession.
UNDERWAY IN MARSEILLE! The season's first Classique derby gets going at a white-hot Stade Velodrome. It'll be huge. PSG get going attacking from left to right.
Laurent Blanc's men beginning to dominate possession in the middle of the park, but they're unable as of yet to really include Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani at the other end.
Marseille will be donning a special jersey for tonight's Le Classique - with the hashtag #OMFadaForever emblazoned on the front. The sides are out, and the atmosphere is building.
Are you a Marseillais or a Parisien? Ten minutes to go until we get underway. A win for Marseille would ensure that they leapfrog their opponents, whilst a win for PSG would see them join AS Monaco at the top of Ligue 1.
A few more statistics: Marseille have yet to concede the first goal in a league game at home this season. When PSG have scored the first goal away from home this season, they have always gone on to win the match.
Tonight's referee is Clement Turpin - who, at 31, is younger than Zlatan Ibrahimovic!
Only 400 PSG fans expected tonight, that number surprisingly low due to a quota agreed by the clubs and the French government after a couple of unsavoury incidents over the years. But make no mistake, the atmosphere will be red-hot!

CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Marseille confirmed earlier today that there were several European clubs with scouts present at this match - including emissaries from Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Monaco........and Blackburn Rovers.
There were no less than FOUR Classiques last season, with OM picking up one draw, and PSG prevailing in the other three. A 2-2 draw at the Velodrome last year was followed by a trio of 2-0 wins, two coming in the Coupes.
Marseille are unbeaten in this fixture at home since a 4-2 reverse in 2008, though Paris Saint-Germain have picked up a huge 25 points from the last 27 on offer
In today's earlier Ligue 1 game - there was a surprising result. Lyon, with one win since mid-August suffered a stunning 5-1 defeat to Montpellier, with talks of a crisis brewing. Monaco's win over Saint-Etienne yesterday meanwhile, puts them clear at the top.
Both sides were involved in Champions League matches in midweek - both which ended 3-0. PSG strolled to an easy win over Benfica, whilst Marseille were rolled over by Borussia Dortmund. In Ligue 1 though, they are only a point apart from each other.
I'm Mohammed Ali and I'll be taking you through proceedings at the Stade Velodrome in what should be an epic encounter. There is no love lost between these two, and unsurprisingly the game is a sell-out at the 48,000 capacity stadium, which is still without an entire stand.
Good evening! Bon soir! And welcome to tonight's LIVE commentary concerning the big one in France. Olympique de Marseille against fierce rivals Paris Saint-Germain from the Stade Velodrome. Call it Le Classique, Derby de France or simply a 'Clasico' - it's a huge game!
