The Flying Antelopes will have a lot of work to do in Angola after a barren home draw against their opponents
Nigeria's sole surviving club on the continent, Enugu Rangers are walking a tight rope after they were held to a goalless draw in the second round, first leg match of the Caf Champions League by visiting club, Recreativo Libolo of Angola in Enugu on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes had shot themselves in the foot even before the game started when they had to make a last ditch effort before clearing the duo of Chigozie Agbim and Emmanuel Daniel to get recognised goalkeepers. Their only goalie before now, Godwin Ayalogu was ruled out of the game due to thigh injury.
The Enugu team also had about three of their defenders down with injuries before the game.
Rangers strove throughout the encounter to fashion out a winning formula but they met in Recreativo Libolo a side that was unwilling to relinquish their unbeaten streak just yet.
Sanusi Sani, Efe Yarhere, Uche Oguchi, Alhaji Gero all at different stages of the tie got the alert Recreativo goalie unsettled but the keeper Landu was at his true element foiling all attempts to score.
Both clubs will still have a lot to do ahead of the second leg with the Angolan club slight favourites to advance to the next round.
The second leg comes up in two weeks time in Libolo.
