Didn't have a shot to save in the first half until Hazard's tame free kick just before the interval. Had more to deal with in the second but his defence were pivotal in his clean sheet.
Made just his second league start of the season and appeared to start soundly but has covering-defender Vlaar to thank for not picking up a red card for his tackle on Ramires.
A very mature display from the young academy graduate despite picking up a booking in the first five minutes. Still as committed as ever in the tackle.
An assured performance at the back, he was solid in the tackle and more than comfortable on the ball when in possession. A brave performance at the back.
Offered an extra dynamic in midfield and showed smart touches of the ball to evade challenges. Didn't always play the right option but won the game with a great run and finish.
K. El Ahmadi
Endured a topsy-turvy first season at the club but has settled well in his second and looked solid today, working tirelessly for his side off the ball and not being afraid to create space.
Perhaps one of his more all-rounded performances for the club today, keeping possesion well and looking organised in defence.
Interesting match-up against Azpilicueta today, with both full-backs intent on going all out attack. Provided some good width for his side and hit some fine crosses into the box.
The Belgian was influential in Villa's victory against Norwich and had one or two chances in the first half here - notably a fine acrobatic attempt that went just inches wide. Came close on the counter in the second.
Drifted in and out of midfield and attack, which allowed him to find space but didn't ever find himself darting through with a goalscoring chance.
Did not play as big a role in his side's attack as he has done in the past but started a fine counterattack to tee up Benteke. He was eventually substituted in the second half.
Cech and his back four hold the best defensive record in the league but, in a tight affair, the Czech goalkeeper didn't much to save until Delph's smart finish proved too much for him.
Not as dominant in his role at the back, although always a presence in the air. Found it difficult to track Delph for the goal.
Took centre stage in the reverse fixture as he scored the winning goal but, in a game filled with controversy, the goal came down his side. Was steady at the back for the most part, however.
Found himself in some great positions in the first half and helped stretch the play for his side. Looked equally as strong at the back, stopping play from crosses. Ashley Cole has very little chance of displacing the Spaniard.
Decent in defence but was troubled by the strength and determination of Benteke, who caused him problems in the second half particularly.
Was one of three changes in the side and supplied his team their first chance on goal with a speculative long-range strike. Had a lot of tracking back to do and was sent off for a second yellow.
Brought down after attempting to evade the last line of defence but Bennett's foul only warranted a yellow. Slow on the ball and caught out in possession when Villa had momentum. Sent off late on.
Must have thought he had scored his first goal for the club from a corner but officials ruled it out for handball, although that might have been a little harsh. Strong in the interception and read play well.
Looked their brightest spark going forward and had his two best chances from dead-ball opportunities. His second, from a free kick, trickled agonisingly wide of the post.
Found himself in a number of positions to shoot but didn't make the most of his chance from a corner. Later brought off for Schurrle and this wasn't his best day.
Returned to the line-up after injury prior to their Spurs victory and had a couple of chances but didn't have the pace to break free at times and those were wasted. Had five shots on goal, with none of them on target. Later replaced by Ba.
