Michael Laudrup's side dominanted possession in the first half but it was the Hammers who created the better chances, though the spoils were shared at the Liberty Stadium

Michel Vorm Flop of the Match

Fumbled a hopefull ball into the box from Rat and would have conceded had Rangel not bailed him out with a goal-line clearance. Out-jumped by Demel moments later from a corner and lucky not to concede in the first half.

  • Neil Taylor

    Neil Taylor

Back in the side to make a timely return with Ben Davies out injured but didn't put in his usual attacking shift on the left.

  • Chico

    Chico Top of the Match

Had his thumping header saved at point blank range in the first half while his defensive play was solid.

  • Ashley Williams

    Ashley Williams

Returned after missing the last five weeks with an ankle injury. Strong leader at the back with no direct striker to deal with for most of the game.

  • Ángel Rangel

    3.00

    Ángel Rangel

Cleared a dropped ball from Vorm off the line in the early stages of the game and eventually showed good attacking intent on the right alongside Dyer in the second half.

  • Leon Britton

    Leon Britton

Outshone in the first-half by an opposition midfield that looked more assured and stronger. Eventually came into the game during the second half.

  • Michu

    2.00

    Michu

Had a quiet first half and didn't provide enough link-up play between midfield and attack. Not his best game.

  • Nathan Dyer

    Nathan Dyer

Didn't have much luck on the right-hand side with the opposition doubling-up on him in the first half; either forced back inside or running into dead ends. Made a terrific turn and run early in the second to evade two players and play the ball across to Vazquez.

  • Wayne Routledge

    Wayne Routledge

Ineffective in the first half and didn't provide enough impact in the final third, despite the Swans' dominance in possession.

  • Jonathan De Guzmán

    Jonathan De Guzmán

Another in midfield who couldn't stamp his authority on the game nor create enough chances, but kept the flow of the game when they were on top in the second half.

  • Álvaro

    Álvaro

Looked anonymous in the first half in his first league start for the club as they rested Wilfried Bony who lead the line in midweek. So close to connecting to a cross from Dyer early in the second half but didn't do enough.

    Pablo Hernández

Entered the game on the hour mark in place of Routledge to return after his hastring problem and showed great vision to thread a ball into the final third that eventually led to their best chance of the game.

  • Wilfried Bony

    Wilfried Bony

Came on for Vazquez to play his third game in eight days and had the best chance of the match for his side with a sweetly struck shot inside the box - matched with a strong hand from Jaaskelainen.

  • Jussi Jaaskelainen

    Jussi Jaaskelainen

He stopped Chico's header from close range although didn't know much about it and did well to deny Bony. Showed, even at 38-years-old, how good he remains.

  • Winston Reid

    Winston Reid

In a central-defensive partnership with James Tomkins he had very little to deal with in the first half. Allowing Chico to evade him for for a header was the only major criticism.

  • James Tomkins

    James Tomkins

Read the game well and covered his lines on the few occassions Swansea did pose a threat down the right.

  • R. Raţ

    R. Raţ

Stood up well to the Swansea wingers in the first half and could have inadvertedly created a goal after Vorm fumbled. Put in a determined shift and covered ground well.

  • Guy Demel

    3.50

    Guy Demel

Easily muscled off the ball by Nathan Dyer in his first exchange but then had him in his pocket for the rest of the game. Had the two best chances of the first half with headers from two corners.

  • Kevin Nolan

    Kevin Nolan

Doubled up on Nathan Dyer alongside Rat which nullified his threat and forced him to come inside.

  • Ravel Morrison

    3.00

    Ravel Morrison

Confident on the ball and liked to drift around the pitch. Had a decent shot on goal but struck with no real conviction and should have called for the ball when Nolan took a shot - he was in a better position.

  • Mark Noble

    Mark Noble

Sat deep and never really put under much threat. Dictated much of West Ham's play, though Swansea won the battle for the ball.

  • Mohamed Diame

    Mohamed Diame

Powerful presence up front despite it not being his natural position, but his touch did let him down at times and he was eventually taken off.

  • Stewart Downing

    2.50

    Stewart Downing

Made a bright start to the game with direct runs and two attempts on goal inside the first ten minutes but then didn't show much afterwards.

  • Ricardo Vaz Te

    2.00

    Ricardo Vaz Te

Lead a quick counterattack from a Swansea corner and did well to set up Morrison who should have hit the target. Replaced just after the half-hour mark clutching his leg.

Substitutions

  • Matthew Jarvis

    2.50

    Matthew Jarvis

He entered the fray in place of the injured Vaz Te and occupied the same position on the left, pulling back a terrific cross right before half-time that Nolan should have done better with.

  • Joe Cole

    2.00

    Joe Cole

Given a run-out in the last ten minutes in place of Morrison as the Swans were starting to assert their authority. Might have conceded a penalty when the ball hit his arm.

  • Carlton Cole

    2.50

    Carlton Cole

Returned to the side after being released in the summer, though offered little beyond his defensive contribution. His late header nearly found the corner of the net but was read well by Vorm.
