There were emphatic wins for 3SC, Sunshine, Heartland and others in Week 7 clashes of the NPFL as the games produced 24 goals from 10 ties across the country

The Oluyole Warriors were truly at home at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan as they pummelled visiting Akwa United 4-1 on Sunday. The first half belonged to the visitors as they outclassed 3SC and even got the first goal of the game through Mfon Udoh in the 32nd minute. It was like that throughout the first half until the Oluyole Warriors turned the table in the second half.

Gbolahan Salami who just returned from injury got 3SC's curtain raiser in the 52nd minute from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the 18 yard box. Chima Akas increased the tally six minutes later via a free kick as well as Akindele Toluwase and Moses Ogaga in the 70th and 68th minutes respectively. Akindele's goal came barely two minutes after replacing Philip Asuquo.

3SC, who have only secured all points at home are now placed 4th on the log with 12 points from 7 games while Akwa United slipped to 11th on 9 points from same number of matches.

One of the only two recognised privately owned clubs in the country- ABS were successful in their latest premier league game after they turned back Bayelsa United 2-0 at the upgraded Kwara State International Stadium, Ilorin.

For the first time this season, ABS had other players doing the scoring besides their top scorer, Ichull Lordson. Abdulrahman Bashir who was among the top goal poachers last season scored the first goal for his first strike of the season while Thomas Zenke added the second in the second half of the tie.

ABS moved to 16th on the league table with 7 points from as many games while Bayelsa United slid from 4th position to 8th with 10 points from matches.

The Akure Gunners defeated Wikki Tourists in emphatic fashion at the Akure Township Stadium to move within five points of the top spot even with a game in hand.

Club captain and Super Eagles' defender, Godfrey Oboabona marked his return to the team with two goals while Dele Olorundare accounted for the third.

Sunshine have been impressive under the tutelage of Samuel Abimbola who took over from current Sharks' boss Gbenga Ogunbote. The club will be on the road this mid week in Yenagoa as guests of Bayelsa United.

The Akure club have 11 points from six games and they have an outstanding fixture at home to Lobi Stars yet to be fixed. Wikki Tourists are back among the relegation teams. They are 18th with seven points garnered thus far.

The Blue Angels registered their first point under the reign of new gaffer Gbenga Ogunbote after they fought gamely to hold irrepressible Kano Pillars to a goalless draw at the Sharks Stadium on Sunday.

Sharks had lost 4 games including a home tie against Kwara United before their duel against Pillars. With the change of guards in the coaching staff the renewed zeal within the Blue Angels' fold must be turbo charged if they want to rescue their season.

Pillars were on a winning streak of three games and wanted to extend it to four against the troubled Sharks but coach Ogunbote and his players did not allow that to happen.

Though Pillars drew in Port Harcourt, they still kept a two point cushion between them and Enugu Rangers and are favourites to land maximum points at home to Heartland this mid week. They have 16 points from a maximum 21 while Sharks are rooted to the bottom of the log with 5 points from the same number of matches.

The Naze Millionaires shook off the disappointment of their elimination from the Caf Confederation Cup on technical ground with an impressive 3-0 thrashing of Lobi Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Former Lobi ace, David Tyvkasse further exposed the weaknesses of his ex-club after scoring a brace before Heartland's top scorer, Isah Akor netted the third.

Both Lobi and the Owerri based club were ousted from Africa's second tier club competition same weekend. Lobi lost 7-1 in Mozambique against Liga Depotivo Muculmana de Maputo to bid the competition bye on 8-4 goals aggregate while Heartland were walked over in Gabon against US Bitam after shoddy travel arrangements.

Heartland are 7th on the log with 10 points from seven games. They have only got a point on the road thus far this season while Lobi's poor away form has not been halted yet. They have 9 points from six matches. The Naze Millionaires have a tough duel against league reigning champions and current pacesetters, Pillars in Kano while Lobi welcome Rangers.

The Flying Antelopes did not allow their current fight with injuries to some of their key players to distract them in their home fixture against Dolphins of Port Harcourt.

Rangers, who are the Nigeria's sole representatives on the continent after the exit of Lobi, Heartland and Pillars, defeated Dolphins 3-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday evening.

Chimezie Ajaegbo, Chibuzo Okonkwo and Efe Yarhere in the 33rd, 50th and 71st minutes in that order, got all the goals that cemented the Enugu club's second spot on the league table with 14 points from seven games. Dolphins are 15th on the log with 8 points from as many games.

Rangers face a wounded Lobi side at their Emmanuel Atongo Stadium, Katsina Ala mid week and they must be at their best if they are to come back with a point at least while Dolphins welcome equally gifted Nasarawa United at Port Harcourt's Liberation Stadium.

Bishop Onyeudo failed to add to the five goals he has scored this season as he got beaten 0-2 with his club Gombe United in Lafia against Nasarawa United.

Two quick fire goals from Daniel Jackson and Abu Aliyu in the 4th and 8th minutes respectively ensured Nasarawa maintained their third position on the log with 14 points from seven ties. They are on the same number of points with Rangers but are below them based on their inferior goals difference.

The Desert Scorpions are 13th on the log with nine points from seven games. They are yet to get any point on the road and rely heavily on their performance during their home games.

The Peoples Elephant got another goalless draw from their home tie with Kwara United in Aba. It was the club's second consecutive home draw after Warri Wolves came to the same place to grab a precious point.

The trio of Salisu Yusuf, Paul Aigbogun and Imama Amakapabor are yet to find a solution to the club's far from impressive form this season and one must be found quickly if they do not want to face their fans anguish soonest.

For Kwara United,it was quick fix it to their own myriads of problems having lost their last two matches against Rangers (where they surrendered their unbeaten start to the season 1-3) and at home to Nasarawa United.

Enyimba are placed 9th on the league table with nine points from seven games while Kwara United are just a place below the Aba Millionaires with same number of points from the same game played.

Okiki Musampa's solitary strike in the 43rd minute was all Nembe needed to capture maximum points at home to Kaduna United.

John Aranka’s lads have added Kaduna United to their 'victims' this season in their debut campaign in the premier league division. They have 11 points from seven games and are 6th on the log while Kaduna are 17th with seven points from as many matches.

Warri Wolves have finally bagged their first victory of the season after 7 games following their 4-1 home win over El Kanemi Warriors.

Oghenekaro Etebo scored three strikes for the first hat trick of the season in the 4th, 9th and 37th minutes and Joseph Osadiaye in the 12th minute as Wolves went goal riot in the first half.

Wolves couldn't add to the goal tally in the second half but actually conceded one in the 56th minute through Babalo Haruna.

The Warri club have for the first time this season left the relegation zone as they are now placed 14th with 8 points from 7 games. They remained unbeaten in the last 6 matches.
