Although the Selangor state government has parted ways and withdrawn its funding for the Selangor FA (FAS), it seems that they have neglected to settle all its obligations to the Red Giants.

In an exchange that took place on Instagram, Selangor captain Razman Roslan pleaded for former Selangor manager Amirudin Shari to settle the team's bonus from the 2016 season.

Amirudin, the Selangor State Executive Councillor for Youth Development, Sports, Cultural and Entrepreneurship Development held the Red Giants team manager position from 2015 to 2016, on the appointment of Selangor Menteri Besar (chief minister) and then-FAS president Dato' Seri Azmin Ali. Azmin and Amirudin stepped down from their posts in FAS at the end of the 2016 season, following a mutiny staged by a renegade camp inside the FAS executive committee (exco), who now lead the FAS administration. The FAS exco then in February this year voted Dato' Sri Subahan Kamal as its new president, sans state funding.

On an unrelated photo posted by the politician on his Instagram account amirudin_shari late Sunday night, Razman pleaded for Amirudin, whom he referred to as 'YB' in the exchange, to settle the team bonus, saying that the bad blood between the two parties should not affect the players:

"Please discuss the issue of the team's bonus from last year, YB. Aren't you going to call for a meeting?

"The issue of bonus should not affect the players, as this is a matter that should be discussed between the former administration and the new one. I'm sure you're aware that the new president has settled the wages, now we're only owed the bonus.

"I can't speak too much about this, but can't we meet sometime?" went Razman's plea.

Amirudin then snidely responded in the same comments section; saying that he has been burnt by his previous attempts.

"It'd be better if you ask the FAS president to come see the MB (Menteri Besar) and discuss a solution. Or come see the MB yourself, if you want to take care of your teammates, you'll only get Internet likes if you ask on social media."

"I've mentioned before that we're open for discussions, so be it. I've arranged it (a meeting) so many times, but in the end I was the one bitten," he explained.

However, the Red Giants skipper did not the escalate the matter, and diplomatically got Amirudin to agree to see him, by referring to a pastime that the two must have indulged in previously.

"Please meet me, YB. We haven't played ping-pong in a while. Or we can have tea, just let me know when you are free."

To this Amirudin replied; "Alright, we'll set the time" and the exchange ended.

During Amirudin's tenure, Selangor won the 2015 Malaysia Cup; their historic 33rd Malaysia Cup title, and qualified for the 2016 AFC Cup.
