"There's no wall capable of stopping us if we believe in ourselves," Marquez tweeted, adding his hashtag that blends his number four with the Spanish word for attitude. He also added video of a free kick he smashed over a wall and in while playing with FC Barcelona.

Marquez and the Mexican national team were in the United States just after the election of Trump, who has drawn sharp condemnition from Mexican elected officials for his border wall, immigration and tax plans, beating the Americans 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier.

The two teams posed together for a photo before the match in a show of solidarity.
