The 18-year-old striker seemingly has the world at his feet, but it all began in humble fashion at a small club in the Paris suburbs

Kylian Mbappe is perhaps Europe's most-coveted player. But like most footballers, he had to work his way up from humble beginnings.

The 18-year-old Monaco striker took Europe by storm this season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions in his first full season at the senior club level.

Wenger warns Mbappe: Be careful over next move

Mbappe's exploits have led to reported bids well north of €100 million from some of Europe's biggest clubs, making him likely to one day – perhaps soon – be the world's most expensive footballer.

For Mbappe, it's been a lightning-quick rise that all started in the Paris suburb of Bondy.

Take a look at the brief documentary above to see Mbappe's roots, including interviews with his father and his former youth coach.
