Having managed just one Ligue 1 start under Unai Emery, the former Spain under-21 international found himself on his way back to Spain to spend the second half of the season on loan at Las Palmas.

And though he has returned to more familiar surroundings, Jese's campaign continues to go from bad to worse.

His arrival has coincided with his new club suffering a four match losing streak, with Jese starting three of those games after coming on as a substitute in the first.

The latest came on Friday evening as Real Sociedad continued their push for European football with a 1-0 win at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, leaving the home side 12th in the Liga table.

And who is to say with Jese around, they won't continue to drift towards the relegation places?
