Injured Cech forced off for Arsenal at West Brom

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has been forced to limp off with an injury during the Gunners' clash with West Brom.

The former Chelsea man seemed to pick up the injury when playing a pass to Shkodran Mustafi and was replaced late in the first half by David Ospina.

Cech immediately signalled to the bench that he was in some discomfort, with the Czech slumping to the turf.

The experienced shot-stopper appeared to be struggling with a calf complaint as he made his way from the field.

An injury to a key figure is the last thing Arsene Wenger needs right now, with the under-fire Frenchman continuing to fight for his job.

There were further protests against his reign ahead of the match at The Hawthorns, with a plane flying over the ground pulling a banner which read: “No contract, Wenger out”.

'Wenger will only leave in a box!'

Wenger then saw his side fall behind to a Craig Dawson header inside 12 minutes, with Arsenal failing to defend a set-piece.

Alexis Sanchez levelled shortly afterwards, although he too took a hefty blow before half-time after being clattered by James McClean.
