During his time with the Dutch giants, Guardado won a pair of Eredivisie titles and two Dutch Super Cups.

Guardado has also been a member of two Gold Cup-winning squads with Mexico and has been capped 136 times by El Tri, suiting up most recently for the nation's fourth-place finish in the 2017 Confederations Cup.

After spending the last three seasons with PSV, the 30-year-old Guardado had been linked to a move to MLS, with rumors linking him to expansion side LAFC, which is set to begin play in 2018.

Instead the midfielder will ply his trade in La Liga until 2020, returning to Spain where he played for seven season with Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia after moving from Liga MX side Atlas after the 2006-07 season.
