He came, he saw and he conquered. That would be the fitting description of Yangon United’s talismanic striker, Kyaw Ko Ko who terrorized the Kelantan defence throughout and thus ending the slim hopes that the home side had to qualify to the next stage of the AFC Cup.

Ko Ko has always been regarded as a pivotal member of Eric Williams’ set-up and against Steve Darby’s underperforming charges; he shone brightest with two wonderfully crafted assists and a well taken goal.

The trequartista outwitted his much bigger opponent, Obinna Nwaneri to create the space for Cezar’s first goal with a perfectly weighted pass in the first half.

Just as Kelantan was about to find their rhythm with two-quick goals, Ko Ko showcased his technical ability to beat his marker at the near post to lay an assist for Emerson Reis to score. The nippy forward wrapped up a majestic performance with a placed shot to effectively send The Red Warriors crashing out in the dying minutes of the match.

All in all, it was a sterling display by Myanmar’s number one support striker who proved that Malaysian teams still have a lot to do to shine in the second-tier regional competition.
