thumbnail Hello,

The goalkeeper and his captain were both injured during Saturday's triumph in the DFB-Pokal final over Borussia Dortmund but the German giants say that they will recover in time

Bayern Munich say that both goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and captain Philipp Lahm will be fit to play for Germany at the World Cup.

Neuer picked up a knock to his right shoulder during Saturday's 2-0 DFB-Pokal final win over Borussia Dortmund, although it was initially thought to be a minor problem.

The former Schalke man was pictured on Monday leaving a doctor's surgery following a check-up with his arm in a sling, prompting concerns that the injury could be more severe, with Bayern confirming that he has ruptured a minor acromioclavicular ligament.

With the tournament set to begin in June, however, Neuer is expected to recover in time while training less intensively for the time being, with both he and Lahm to join up with the national squad on Wednesday as planned.

Germany boss Joachim Low had already revealed that he is "100 per cent sure" that Lahm will be fit for Brazil after speaking with him on Saturday and the versatile defender will be ready after resting for between five and seven days due to a bruised ankle.
