Pahang striker Fauzi Roslan has dedicated his strike against Sarawak to the fans, and he is determined to bring back the Malaysia Cup trophy to Pahang.
Fauzi Roslan, who scored the equaliser during Pahang’s 1-1 draw with Sarawak in the second leg of the 2013 Malaysia Cup semifinal, has dedicated his goal to all the Pahang supporters.
Fauzi's goal in the 74thminute of the game bought a sigh of relief for Pahang supporters and head coach Dollah Salleh, after their team had been second best to Sarawak all game long that night.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Fauzi said: "Of course we are happy because it has been a long time since have been in the final and now we have fulfilled that dream.
"I am also grateful because this is the best gift I can give to the Pahang fans who have been supporting us since day one."
Fauzi’s focus has now switched to the final against defending champions Kelantan this Sunday at the Shah Alam Stadium and he has set his eyes on bringing the Malaysia Cup trophy back to Pahang.
"We already achieved our goal to be in the final and now we must make sure that we will win the cup.
"I’m preparing for [it] both mentally and physically," he added.
The last time Pahang won the Malaysia Cup was back in 1992 and a win this Sunday will break Kelantan’s dominance in the the tournament over the past few years.
