J.League Round 2 PREVIEW: Can Sanfrecce bounce back?

Sanfrecce Hiroshima would look to regain their form after a disappointing start last week as the J.League season moves into round two Indonesia   BY

Albirex Niigata vs Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Big Swan Stadium)

Albirex fell to a 1-0 defeat to Cerezo Osaka last weekend and will be looking to improve on that in their first home game of the season on Saturday. Sanfrecce weren’t able to make the most of that advantage last week, losing 2-1 at home to Urawa Reds, and the reigning champions can’t afford to drop any more points here.

Kashima Antlers vs Vegalta Sendai (Kashima Soccer Stadium)

Antlers could only pick up one point in their opening game of the season when they battled to a 1-1 draw with last year’s surprise package Sagan Tosu. Vegalta also had to settle for a share of the spoils after being held to a 1-1 of their own against recently promoted J2 champions Ventforet Kofu, so both teams will be after their first victory this week.

Antler’s cause will be helped by young striker Yuya Osako, who will hope that this can be the season when he fully comes of age to become a fixture in the side’s front line. To see how he gets on here check your local TV guides as this game is being shown live around the world!

FC Tokyo vs Kashiwa Reysol (Ajinomoto Stadium)

FC Tokyo got the 2013 season off to a winning start when they came from a goal down to beat last year’s J2 Play Off winners Oita Trinita 2-1. Reysol also came away from their match in Round 1 with all three points after they overcame Kawasaki Frontale 3-1. Will either side be able to make it two wins from two here?
