Thim Xhad travel to KL minus two players who got transferred to the nation’s ASEAN University Games squad right before the registration deadline
Laos, the last team to qualify for the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup have announced their squad of 20 players, although the tournament rules allow teams to register a maximum off 22 players.
Despite their initial plans of naming 22 players, Seny Sangsuvanh, the team’s assistant coach revealed to Goal.com that they had to drop Odien Syharlad and Seng Athit Somvang from the squad at the very last minute.
The duo were called-up to represent Thim Xhad at the ASEAN University Games, a biennial sports event that involves athletes from the universities of the Southeast Asian countries, which will be held in Vientiane from December 12-20.
Otherwise, there were no major surprises with the list released as key striker Visay Phapuovanin, Thai based trio - Kanlaya Sysomvang & Khampeng Sayavutthi (Khonkaen FC) and Soukaphone Vongchiengkham (Krabi FC) all made the team. First choice shot-stopper Sengphachan Bounthisanh also got in.
