Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Maxime Gonalons believes the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be crucial in the Coupe de la Ligue final on Saturday.
The Sweden star picked up a hamstring injury in the Champions League quarter-final first leg with Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain suffered a 2-0 second-leg defeat followed by a 1-0 loss to Lyon without the striker in the team.
Gonalons feels PSG's style will be affected without their talismanic forward in Saturday's final, and claims his own side will fancy their chances against an inevitably weaker attack.
"Obviously the absence of Zlatan has an impact on the Paris team, he is the scorer and the main creator. But when he isn't there, it also has an impact on the opposition, who know they will face a lesser attacking threat," he told a press conference.
"When such a talented and experienced player is not there, it's always better for the opponent."
The Coupe de la Ligue final kicks off at 21:00CET at Stade de France on Saturday.
