Gourcuff 'not paying attention' to Blanc's selection statement

The pair were part of the Bordeaux side that won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de la Ligue titles in the 2008-09 season but the former Milan player was uninterested in the issue
Yoann Gourcuff responded nonchalantly to France coach Laurent Blanc's recent claims that the Olympique Lyonnais player had an opportunity to make the Euro 2012 squad.

The national team trainer had previously stated on the show Telefoot that despite a difficult year for the 25-year-old, there may be "small chance" for him to make his 23-man squad.

"I was not aware [of Blanc's statements]. I do not pay too much attention, I focus on football," Gourcuff responded to RMC.

"It is my passion, this is where I put my energy and I'm enjoying myself.

"The hope is to be on the pitch, earn playing time and have fun, that's all."

Gourcuff has made just 11 league appearances for Lyon this season as the club missed out on Champions League qualification from Ligue 1.
