thumbnail Hello,

The Magpies boss has been hit with a fine and a formal warning for his headbutt on David Meyler but should he face further action or is his club's response the right one?

POLL

Newcastle have confirmed that they have fined manager Alan Pardew £100,000 and handed him a formal warning after he headbutted Hull City midfielder David Meyler.

The 52-year-old clashed with Meyler during his side's 4-1 win over the Tigers on Saturday but subsequently apologised for his actions.

The Football Association confirmed after the match that it will look into the incident while Newcastle released a statement on Saturday night explaining their punishment.

The Magpies boss admitted after the match he is prepared for whatever comes his way, insisting: "I'm not stupid enough to expect no punishment."

Of course, it is not the first time that Pardew has been in trouble, having been handed a two-match touchline ban and fined £20,000 in 2012 for pushing an assistant referee.

The FA was also forced to warn Pardew about his behaviour in January after a touchline bust-up with Manuel Pellegrini.

So what do you think? Is a fine and a warning adequate punishment for Pardew? Should he face further action, such as a touchline ban? Or do you think he should lose his job altogether?
