Manchester City must be more clinical - Mancini

The Premier League champions laboured to a 3-1 win over QPR, with their manager insisting that they must make more of their goalscoring chances if they are to have a good campaign
Roberto Mancini says that Manchester City need to become more clinical in front of goal at key moments in order to enjoy a successful campaign after their 3-1 win over QPR.

Yaya Toure gave City the lead at the Etihad Stadium before Bobby Zamora scored a shock equaliser, but Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez struck to ensure a second home win of the season.

It follows a narrow 3-2 win over Southampton and a battling 2-2 draw at Liverpool for the Premier League champions, and Mancini feels his side must start to take their big chances in matches.

"I think we played well the first half, but we have one problem at the moment - when we have a chance to score, we don't score, and the game can change," he told ESPN.

"We had this problem in the first game and against Liverpool. In the second half we didn't play well. We were too slow but in the end it's important that we took three points."

City currently lie fourth in the table with seven points from their opening three games.
