Salvio 'very happy' with Benfica return

The Argentine, who fell out of favour at Atletico Madrid, is looking forward to starting a second spell in the Portuguese capital, with confirmation of his transfer now imminent
Eduardo Salvio is delighted to have been presented with the opportunity of returning to Benfica.

The forward is on the brink of completing a permanent transfer to the Estadio da Luz after previously representing the Portuguese giants on loan during 2010-11.

He landed in Lisbon on Tuesday morning in the company of his wife and son, and briefly shared his emotions with reporters who were waiting for him at the airport.

"I am very happy to return to Benfica," he said.

According to sources near the club, Salvio will pen a five-year contract, which will tie him down until 2017, with the Argentina international costing Benfica a fee in the region of €10 million.

Salvio made 39 competitive appearances, scoring 10 goals, in his first spell with the Eagles.
