Besiktas' Fernandes requests contract termination

Due to unpaid salary, the Portuguese midfielder wants to scrap his deal and move to Real Zaragoza without paying the side any penalty
Manuel Fernandes has requested termination of his contract with Besiktas without compensation after his and fellow team-mate wages were not paid.

The Turkish club are currently facing heavy legal punishment for not reporting earnings worth €22 million between 2005 and 2007, meaning they failed to pay €4 million in taxes. As a result, the club have been hit with a ban on signing new players.

In July 2011, the midfielder penned a three-year deal with Besiktas after a move from Valencia, but he wants to terminate the contract with Real Zaragoza in the frame to secure his signature.
