Manuel Fernandes has requested termination of his contract with Besiktas without compensation after his and fellow team-mate wages were not paid.
The Turkish club are currently facing heavy legal punishment for not reporting earnings worth €22 million between 2005 and 2007, meaning they failed to pay €4 million in taxes. As a result, the club have been hit with a ban on signing new players.
In July 2011, the midfielder penned a three-year deal with Besiktas after a move from Valencia, but he wants to terminate the contract with Real Zaragoza in the frame to secure his signature.
Fernandes recently missed out on a place in Portugal's Euro 2012 squad.
