thumbnail Hello,

Mustapha "El Loco" Kamaruddin believes Barcelona should let David Villa leave if the right offer comes in, for Villa needs to play frequently to resurrect his career

HOLA!

One of the highlights in the on-going winter transfer window is whether Barcelona striker David Villa
will leave Nou Camp.

Villa, 31, is desperate to leave as he has not seen many minutes of playing time since he recovered
from a broken leg suffered in the Club World Cup in Japan in December of 2011.

Barca emerged champions in the tournament, for the record.

The Spain international is surely finding it difficult to be a regular nowadays at Barca, like everyone
knows, are rich in attacking talents.

Lionel Messi has been amazing in his role of a 'False No 9' in VIlla's absence. His record-breaking 91
goals in 2012 is a testimony of this.

For that matter, even before Villa was injured, he was forced to play on the flank as to provide the
room for Messi to handle the role of the main striker.

There are also names like Pedro and Alexis Sanchez who have forming this three-man attack
employed by the Catalans.

Even if Pedro and Sanchez are injured or suspended, manager Tito Vilanova are bound to push
midfielders Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas up front instead of giving Villa his break.

Then it will also be difficult for Villa to regain the kind of form he enjoyed before his leg was broken
if he does not play frequently.

That's why he is desperate to leave to another club, who can provide him with more playing time to
resurrect his career.

Never mind the fact that Vilanova feels Villa is still much needed at Nou Camp because the season is
still a long way to go.

Villa may get that chance of being a starter sooner or later. But then again when?

European champions Chelsea were earlier reported to be keen in getting Villa on loan but Barca
were not interested.

Italian club Juventus are said to interested to sign him on loan as well.

And the latest is that Tottenham have joined the race to get Villa to assist them in their bid to finish
at least fourth in the Premier League.

Barca should reconsider Villa's 'plea' to let him go - if a reasonable offer come by and end his misery
- that is.

Villa's very own fans should be happy if he can play more often as a regular even at another club as it
has been a long time they had seen him doing so..

They are missing his clinical finishing, don't they?

Villa, who joined Barca in 2010, has scored 28 goals from 61 outings. He netted a total of 108 goals
from 166 games while playing for Valencia from 2005 to 2010.

He has 85 caps for Spain and scored 53 times - an outstanding feat, indeed..

Villa, nicknamed El Guaje or The Kid, is not expected to start yet again when Barca entertain
Espanyol at Nou Camp on Monday (2am, Malaysian time) when Primera Liga resumes after the
winter break.

El Loco can imagine his sufferings of being left out. That is why Villa hardly smiles nowadays.

Adios!
