Our team of esteemed pundits predict who will be the big winners and losers with the new season set to get under way on Saturday

Will Manchester City retain their Premier League crown? Could Robin van Persie inspire Manchester United to the title? Are Southampton set to avoid the drop and could Real Madrid claim Champions League glory?

PREDICTIONS IN NUMBERS

Can Roberto Mancini guide Manchester City to back-to-back Premier League titles? Well nine of Goal.com's editorial team are convinced that they can repeat last season's heroics while just two believe Manchester United are capable of wrestling back the crown from their rivals.

Despite the arrival of new manager Brendan Rodgers, and the signings of the likes of Joe Allen and Fabio Borini, none of the Goal.com team are predicting Liverpool to secure a top-four finish with both Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham the five tipped to contest the Champions League spots.

After his impressive debut season in the Premier League, Sergio Aguero has been widely tipped to hit top form again at the City of Manchester Stadium with 55% of Goal.com editors tipping the Argentine to win the golden boot this season.

A massive 82% predict that a member of the Manchester City squad will win the Player of the Year award with the likes of Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany being championed by our team of experts.

At the other end of the table, just two of our panel believe that all three of the newly-promoted clubs, Reading, Southampton and West Ham, will survive the drop while six out of 11 are adamant that Brian McDermott's Reading will drop back down to the Championship.

None of the Goal.com editors have tipped Chelsea to regain their Champions League crown with just one tipping an English club to be triumphant in the form of Manchester City. The majority, a massive seven out of 11, are backing Real Madrid to be crowned kings of Europe while, perhaps surprisingly, just three are throwing weight behind Barcelona.

New arrivals to the Premier League feature in our list with just under half predicting that Eden Hazard will claim the Youth Player of the Year award following his big-money move to Chelsea, while one editor has backed new Manchester United signing Shinji Kagawa to make a big impression and claim the Player of the Year title.
