Real Madrid have finally ended Barcelona's three-year reign as Spanish champions as Jose Mourinho & Co. pulled off what many thought would be impossible. The victory over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames on Wednesday night ended the 2011-12 title race in La Liga as Los Blancos were crowned champions of Spain for the 32nd time.

Barca's win over Malaga earlier in the day was not enough as Madrid succeeded in maintaining the seven-point advantage over their Catalan rivals with only two rounds of the campaign remaining.
