Fonte eyes FA Cup final with Southampton

The centre-back was part of the Football League trophy-winning side in 2010, and he is keen to return to Wembley ahead of Saturday's fifth-round clash against Sunderland
Jose Fonte set his sights on reaching the FA Cup final after scoring Southampton's winner at Hull City on Tuesday.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are seventh in the Premier League table following the defender's goal in a 1-0 win over Hull City, just two points adrift of champions Manchester United.

12/1 Southampton are 12/1 with Paddy Power to win the FA Cup
Fonte was in the Southampton side that beat Carlisle in the Football League trophy final in 2010 and he is determined to return to Wembley for the FA Cup final ahead of Saturday's fifth-round clash with Sunderland.

"We want a run in the FA Cup because it is a very special [competition] for us. We’re going to focus on that and try to win the game," he told the club's official website.

"We haven’t beaten Sunderland yet, but hopefully we will do this Saturday.

"We’re in a good situation with the league and we want to finish as high up as possible, but we want to win every game and the FA Cup is something we are looking forward to.

"It would be a dream to go to Wembley again – and win."
