Former Portugal international Nuno Gomes believes that the winner of the tie between Juventus and Fiorentina will win the Europa League.
The 37-year-old, who wore the Fiorentina jersey between 2000 and 2002, hopes his former side can go all the way, but realises they face a tough task to see off the reigning Serie A champions.
"I believe that the winner of this tie has a good chance to win the Europa League. Juventus are one of the biggest teams in the competition and can definitely win it, although Fiorentina will pose a stern test," he told Goal.
"Juventus have been doing very well this term and have some great players with Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, but they will struggle at the Artemio Franchi.
"Fiorentina are also having a great season and I have no doubt that it will be two great games."
The Portuguese then went on to praise Vincenco Montella for his good work at the Viola, while he hopes Giuseppe Rossi will be fit in time to feature for Italy at the 2014 World Cup.
"Montella has been doing a very good job. Fiorentina were unlucky to lose Rossi due to injury, but thankfully Mario Gomez is nearing peak fitness again. I hope Fiorentina can keep this up in Serie A.
"I like Rossi a lot and I felt really sorry for him when he got injured again. I hope that he will be back in time for the World Cup."
