The Argentine is yet to score in the Premier League since signing for the Latics in 2010 but is currently the joint-top scorer in the cup competition with three in two outings
The Argentine forward is the joint-leading goalscorer in the tournament, having notched twice against West Ham on Tuesday night and against Nottingham Forest in the previous round.
"It is always important for a striker to score goals and I am very happy to have scored twice in the game," Boselli told Wigan's official website after the game.

"The service for both goals was very good so I am very grateful for that."
The Latics ended West Ham’s eight-match unbeaten run at home, causing Roberto Martinez a few selection dilemmas in the process.
"The opportunity tonight was a great chance to show how willing to fight the players who haven't played much are," Boselli added.
"I am very happy that we got the victory and the most important thing is that the team played very well against a good team away from home."
