Arsene Wenger has been looking for a new right-back following Bacary Sagna's Bosman move to Manchester City, with the fellow France international heavily linked.

Newcastle have been preparing for his departure by monitoring Micah Richards's situation at City, and are willing to match his £70,000-a-week wages to bring him to St. James' Park.

Debuchy says a move to the Emirates is not yet confirmed, despite a post on an Instagram account in his name reading: "Goodbye Brazil. Hello Arsenal."

"It is not I who posted it on Instagram," he to L'Equipe.

"Everyone says that, but there is nothing done. For now, we are discussing. Arsenal is a great club, we'll see how it goes."

Wenger had initially targeted Ivory Coast and Toulouse full-back Serge Aurier as a replacement for Sagna, with the North London outfit close to sealing a £7 million deal, but it now seems Debuchy will be preferred.

The former Lille right-back could be the first of an influx of signings for the Gunners, with Goal understanding the FA Cup winners having also tabled a £32m bid for Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez and considering offering Southampton £30m for Morgan Schneiderlin and Dejan Lovren.
