thumbnail Hello,

The 27-year-old will move to San Siro when his contract expires in January and Alberto Zaccheroni is convinced that he will prove to be a great acquisition for the Serie A giants

Japan boss and former AC Milan coach Alberto Zaccheroni is expecting Keisuke Honda to make a big impact when he dons the famous Rossoneri shirt next year.

Honda will move to San Siro in January when his CSKA Moscow contract expires and the attacking midfielder could play a big part in reinvigorating a team who have faltered domestically so far this campaign.

Speaking to Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport, Zaccheroni enthused: "I'm convinced that he is a player who will be admired. He is physically strong, has excellent technique and great personality.

"I was in charge of Milan for three years and I know how much a player's character is important in such a setup."

Milan's new No.10 is expected to make his debut against Sassuolo on January 12.

Zaccheroni went on to speak about Honda's World Cup preparations and hopes that his efforts between now and the end of the season will ensure that the 27-year-old is in tip-top condition when he heads to Brazil next summer.

"He will need these months before the end of the season to prepare in the best way for the World Cup," the Italian added.

Honda's new club were drawn with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 but the Japanese international will be ineligible to compete in Europe this season following his appearances for CSKA in the competition.
