City have been linked with a £40 million move for the Germany international
amid reports that they are prepared to offload Joe Hart following a poor run of form which has seen Costel Pantilimon become first-choice keeper.

Neuer has played an integral role in the Bavarian giants' success and the Bayern coach Guardiola insists the 27-year-old will not be moving to the Premier League club.

When asked about the prospect of Neuer signing for City, the Spaniard said: "No chance."

Goal understands Pellegrini has cast his net wide in search for a new goalkeeper, with the likes of Willy Caballero and Iker Casillas linked in the past.

Hart will face Bayern on Tuesday as City look to better the 3-1 reverse the European champions consigned them to back in October in the search for top spot in Group D.
