Manchester United submit bid for Marquinhos, claims agent

The representative of the Roma centre-back has told Brazilian media his client has attracted offers from the Premier League champions, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona
The agent of Roma's young Brazilian defender Marquinhos has claimed Manchester United have made a bid for his client.
The 19-year-old impressed in Serie A last season, making 26 appearances in his debut season in Europe following a move from Corinthians in 2012.

The champions of France and Spain have also reportedly registered their interest in Marquinhos, and his representative, Roberto Calenda, hinted that a deal could be reached.

"There are offers from PSG, Manchester United and Barcelona," Calenda is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

"Roma have told us that there is a possibility of selling the player for the right price and we will respect the decision they make.

"I can confirm that I was in Barcelona but that was a long time ago and Marquinhos is not my only client."

Roma have recently bolstered their defensive ranks, with the purchase of Medhi Benatia from Udinese, while Goal exclusively revealed on Tuesday that United have offered Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay a £6 million-a-year wage.
