The Swans and the Ligue 1 side have already reached an agreement for the 27-year-old but the French international striker is not keen to move to the Liberty Stadium, according to Aulas.
The Ligue 1 club's chairman insists he remains hopeful that the striker will eventually come round to the idea of plying his trade in the Premier League under Micheal Laudrup.
"I had the feeling and I was even almost sure we could have convinced Bafe [to leave]," Aulas told L'Equipe.
"The Swansea chairman came to Lyon to sign the commitment and we checked the offer was superior to what Bafe earns at Lyon."
"It has become a behaviour problem more than a sporting problem. I could not imagine he would go against his own interests."Gomis has scored 50 goals in 142 appearances since joining Lyon from Saint Etienne in 2009.
