Montella: Arsenal target Jovetic could leave Fiorentina

The Viola coach admits that his side could be tempted to sell the Montenegro international if one of his suitors were to make an attractive offer, with the Gunners in talks
Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella admits that forward Stevan Jovetic could leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi during the summer transfer window.

As exclusively revealed by Goal, Arsenal are in advanced talks with the Serie A outfit to sign the Montenegro international, with the Gunners confident of agreeing a fee below £20 million.

14/1 Arsenal are 14/1 with William Hill to sign Wayne Rooney by September 3
And the former Roma striker says that the Viola could be tempted to sell the attacker if the right bid comes in.

"You know Jovetic is a player with great talent who could have different ambitions," Montella told Tuttosport.

"So, I think, as president [Andrea] Della Valle said, there is the possibility of him leaving if we were paid properly. I'm aware of this."

Fiorentina enjoyed an impressive season, finishing fourth and just two points shy of a Champions League berth, but Montella feels that it will be hard to make a challenge for European qualification next term.

"Next year it will be difficult to come third and maintain the trend of this season but I hope the fate of the end of this season, however, gives us more anger and ambition to achieve something," he added.

The Serie A outfit were robbed of a place in Europe's top competition by AC Milan on the final day of the season. A controversial Mario Balotelli penalty and a late Philippe Mexes strike saw the Rossoneri stage a late comeback against Siena, as they emerged 2-1 victors to seal third spot.
