Shea has never played in the Arsenal first team but was part of the side that won both the Premier Academy League and FA Youth Cup in 2009 before loan spells at Southampton and Dagenham and Redbridge.

Despite only having one professional appearance to his name, Shea was an unused substitute in Arsenal's Champions League tie against Montpellier in September, while he trained with the senior England squad ahead of a Euro 2012 qualifier in 2010.
