Manchester United players will wear black armbands during their Champions League clash with Galatasaray in honour of two Greater Manchester policewomen who lost their lives while on duty, the club have confirmed.
PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes were killed in a gun and grenade attack while responding to a false report of a burglary in the Mottram area on Tuesday, with police suggesting they had been lured to the scene.

A witness at the scene reported hearing 13 gunshots and an explosion shortly before 11pm. Police have revealed one of the officers died at the scene, while the second was critically injured and died afterwards.
Speaking of the incident, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: “We are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two young policewomen protecting our community.
"Fiona and Nicola were highly valued members of Greater Manchester Police and the local community. Our thoughts and prayers are now with their families and friends at this devastatingly sad time."
