Ahead of the 2013 Merdeka Tournament final, Malaysia Under-23 skipper Irfan Fazail exclusively told Goal Malaysia that he is aware of the threat the Burmese pose come Saturday night.
Irfan said:"Myanmar is quite a good team and they might take this final as an oppotunity to take revenge especially when we beat them before.
"But we won’t take the match lightly."
Myanmar suffered defeat in the hands of the Young Tigers in the second round of matches with a great comeback as Ong’s boys did well to deny the White Angels who had the one-goal lead in the first half.
"As a captain, it doesn't matter who we play in the final but our performance will be the key towards a great game," the 22-year-old added.
"I promise that we’ll play our best tomorrow to retain the Merdeka Cup title for the fans."
When asked who he thinks it the man to watch in the Myanmar outfit, he said: "The captain, Kyaw Zayar Win is quite influencial on the pitch."
"And maybe two other players; Kaung Sithu and Kyaw Ko Ko.
"These three players were the key towards their success in the tournament thus far."
Irfan also urges the fans to give their full support to the team in the final by filling up the stadium.
"I hope that the fans can take some time to join us in the final," he added.
"Fans' support is priceless for us and it will boost our spirit.
"As for me, if I march into a stadium packed with a passionate crowd, I won’t hesitate to rise up for Malaysia."
It has been a busy period for the Young Tigers in Kuantan, Pahang this week as they prepare for the final game of the Merdeka Tournament.
