The 20-year-old winger is apparently keen on a switch to the Malaysian Super League, with Pahang the first to show interest in signing the Yangon United player

Yangon United midfielder Kyi Lin could be on his way to the Malaysian Super League (MSL) after the man himself has said that he is interested to play in a different league.

The 20-year-old is an influential part of the Yangon set up and while it is still uncertain whether the club would let him leave, the pacy winger is open to a move abroad, according to the team's fitness coach, Khairul Azmi.

"I asked him four months ago on whether he would be interested to play in Malaysia and he told me that he would love the opportunity to do so," said Khairul, who is a Malaysian.

Kyi made a name for himself in the AFF Suzuki Cup last year, where he impressed for Myanmar, despite their shortcomings.

And his performances did not go unnoticed, as Pahang have officially submitted an enquiry for the winger.

Khairul added: "Pahang were interested at one point.

"Dollah Saleh liked him and Pahang FA asked for my help to enquire on whether Kyi Lin would be interested to play for them.

"I spoke to my President about the offer, but he was reluctant to release Kyi Lin considering the fact that we were playing the AFC Cup.

"Kyi Lin is an important player for us and thus the negotiation stopped."

While there has been no official approach from any Malaysian sides since then, speculation suggests that several teams are keeping tabs on Kyi, especially with the Football Association of Malaysia introducing a new ASEAN Foreign Signing policy beginning next year.
