thumbnail Hello,

The Italy forward says he was not responsible for a tweet on his official account, which suggested that he was on the verge of leaving Torino for Atletico Madrid

Torino star Alessio Cerci says he was not behind a post on his official Twitter account that suggested that he was on the brink of leaving the Italian outfit to join Atletico Madrid.

The forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish champions in the past week and is expected to sign for Diego Simeone's outfit soon.

The tweet read: "Agreement reached, thank you [to] Torino and its fans for everything", but was deleted two minutes after it was posted.

Cerci then told Sky Sport: "I have not written and not deleted the tweet, I'm playing video games with [Ruben] Perez [fellow Torino star on loan from Atletico]... Atletico? Nice, but I'm a player of Torino. We will see..."

Torino fans will now hope the Italy international, who has scored 21 league goals in two seasons in Turin, will remain at their club once the summer transfer window comes to an end, despite the continuing speculation over his future.
