The ex-Juventus star has expressed his delight after his summer move from the Serie A champions, but insisted that his former club will always have a place in his heart
The 37-year-old's contract with the Italian champions expired in the summer and after being linked with a number of clubs, including Liverpool, the former Italy international eventually elected to join the Sky Blues, but stressed that he will always retain an affection for Juve.
"I am very excited, I can not wait to take the field, I feel great emotions. I want to begin immediately," he told reporters.
"Juventus? In some ways this is just a goodbye. I always said that the relationship with the Juventus fans is something that will never leave me, for this reason, as I said it is a goodbye."
Del Piero could make his debut for his new club when they travel to Wellington Phoenix on October 6.
