The experienced midfielder insisted that his side are still in the race for the league title and praised the leadership skills of the Sweden internationalAC Milan veteran Massimo Ambrosini has refused to write off the club's chances of retaining the Scudetto.
The Serie A champions have dropped down to second place after a shock loss to Fiorentina earlier in April but Ambrosini believes the Rossoneri can still overtake leaders Juventus.
"I see a lot of doubt being raised around our team, but many forget that we are just one point behind," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I think that our goal right now is only to take maximum points from our matches.
"I feel fine right now, I hope I will return to the field soon."
Ambrosini, whose Milan contract expires at the end of the season, also took the time to praise Zlatan Ibrahimovic and hopes the Swedish striker will help the club win the league again.
"Zlatan is undoubtedly the leader of the team, he never gives up on that responsibility," the 34-year-old noted.
"Last season he was decisive for us and hopefully he will be again this year."
