Coach of Sarawak, Robert Alberts stated that a team needs the fully utilised their it’s import players if they wish to win the Malaysia Cup, and probably a little luck.
The comment came after his all-local Sarawak team draw with Perak 1-1, which saw them the rock bottom of the group.
Alberts was disappointed because he cannot use all his import players, as all of them were hit by injuries throughout the rest of the season.
According to Bernama, Alberts said “We lost Muamer from the start of the season. He was crucial to us as he was like our engine room, providing assists and good balls to the strikers. If we had a player like Muamer, together with Gabor and Ryan, I’m sure we will be much better.
Commenting after the match, Alberts believed that they should’ve won the game but the players did not take their chances.
“I think we should have won the match. We dominated the game and had good scoring opportunities but our players didn’t take the chances,” added Alberts.
Sarawak was leading Perak, but was frustrated when Perak scored an equaliser in the 79th minute, despite there an appeal for an off-side before the goal.
