Police hunting down JDT fans who punched match official

PDRM have revealed that they have identified the person who attacked the match referee after the tie between JDT and ATM last Tuesday

Police are currently hunting the man who is responsible for punching the match official following the game between JDT and ATM last Tuesday.

The head of the state’s crime investigation division, Datuk Hasnan Hasnan, said his team have identified the individual that did the crime and now they are working on tracing him.

According to Utusan Malaysia, Hasnan said “The cops are currently trying to find the individual in order to help this investigation.”

Recent reports revealed that the official, Wan Mohammad Tarmizi, was on his way back to his hotel in Larkin, before he was assaulted by the assailant. The incident happened after the game between ATM and JDT ended 0-0.

The attack resulted in bruising to Tarmizi’s right eye and some broken teeth. Following the attack he filed a report at the police station in Larkin.

Meanwhile, Johor Football Association released a statement stating that they are disappointed with the incident and will take the necessary steps to prevent such cases happening again.

“We are also hoping that the referee will quickly recover and return to his duty as soon as possible,” said PBNJ.
