During the press conference for the final match of the Asia Champions Trophy U-16 2014, the U-16 Harimau Muda coach S. Balachandran gave his thoughts on his charges' prospects. They will be taking on PVF Vietnam in the in the final, with the first leg of the fixture scheduled on Monday 25 August. The two outfits had been in the same group during the group stage, and both teams won one game each against each other.

On his boys, Bala explained that his team has been together since last year, they have gelled really well and have improved tactically and technically.
He also added that the Tigers are an attacking-minded team with a high defensive line, and have scored many goals.
When asked whether the Young Tigers stand a chance against PVF considering their two previous encounters, Bala responded bullishly. He said that the one loss to PVF in the group stage was suffered due to the fact that most of his boys were fasting at the time.
Also present in the press conference was team captain Shahrul Akmal, who told the press that they will do their best to take as many away goals home with them for the return fixture in Malaysia on 31 August, which coincidentally is also the Malaysian Independence Day.
