After the recent issue of very few Johor Darul Ta'zim supporters attending their first Malaysia Cup match, the club have put the blame on the supporters for not turning up in numbers.
During matchday one the numbers of supporters that went to the stadium to watch the match was far less than the normal average that attended Malaysia Super League matches.
JDT's website stated “The fans always want the team to achieve success, but they do not want to attend the stadium to give their support, even though they know that the team really need it.“It is as if the supporters are starting to forget how team is always hoping for their support in every aspect, especially to the loyal fans who will always come no matter what,” said the admin of the page.
Both JDT and JDT II are fighting in the Malaysia Cup this year, with JDT, the Malaysia Super League winners this season, favourites to win the trophy.
JDT have started brightly in this years edition, beating Kelantan in their first game and drawing with ATM in their second game.
Meanwhile, JDT II have suffered back to back defeats, first against Pahang and then at the hands of fellow Premier League team Felda United.
