Selangor hotshot Paulo Rangel has insisted that he has not set any targets on how many goals he will score during the current Malaysia Cup campaign.
According to the Brazilian, what’s more important is for the Red Giants to win, not his own personal goal tally.
Quoting from Astro Arena, Rangel said “I will try my best in every game and will try to score goals. But I did not set any targets. What’s important is for the team to win.”
Rangel, who was the golden boot winner in this year’s Malaysia Super League (MSL), continued his fine form in the Malaysia Cup after scoring the winning goal for his side in their first game against T-Team.
With his league form continuing on, defenders should be wary and pay more attention to him, as he could well be one of the star performers for the tournament.
Rangel, who also won Goal’s Best MSL Player Award for 2014, moved to Selangor earlier this year from Perak and has been in great form throughout the whole season.
Paulo Rangel and his Selangor teammates will face a much tougher task in their second match in the Malaysia Cup, facing Premier League champions PDRM, who comfortably beat Sime Darby 3-0 in their first game of the tournament.
