Pahang’s veteran player Jalaluddin Jaafar hopes that he will be in action more during the Malaysia Cup, as he spent most of the time on the bench during Pahang’s MSL and FA Cup campaigns.
Jalaluddin is determined to continue to work hard and show coach Zainal Abidin Hassan that he is worthy to be in the starting lineup.
According to Harian Metro, Jalaluddin said “I admit that I played a lot as a sub this season, but I am still hoping to play in the first eleven during the Malaysia Cup campaign."
Jalaluddin also believes that Pahang will have a very good chance of retaining the trophy if his teammates and he can keep their discipline and really focus on every game.
“More important is the unstoppable support from our fans that will always boost our morale and motivate us to keep playing well. If everything goes like we planned, we can do it again this season,” he added.
After winning the Malaysia Cup trophy last year, their good form continued this season as they already clinched the FA Cup by beating Felda United, and as well as the Sumbangsih Cup earlier in the season.
In the Super League, Pahang had a chance to win the MSL, but disappointing results eventually placed them third in the league, behind winners JDT and Selangor.
